The Hortus Botanicus is a botanical garden in the middle of Amsterdam. In this greenhouse one can find three different zones with different climates, representing the subtropics, the desert, and the tropics. Each zone has its own temperature, humidity, and air circulation. This was the inspiration for The green wallpaper, an installation which consists of several layers of photos made in the different climate zones. By combining multiple layers from the different climatezones, a new world has been created in the photo boxes. A world you can find in the middle of Amsterdam but what could never exist in the real world.
